Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, in India. This purported device is said to be the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It may come with a big visual change. Reportedly, this smartphone is likely to replace the familiar vertical camera island with a horizontal ‘pillbox’ style bar that may stretch from the upper back of the smartphone.

Tipster Ice Universe suggests that the S27 Ultra may adopt a horizontal layout to make room for the magnetic system while keeping camera performance intact. This result may give the smartphone a flatter and wider camera signature compared to recent Galaxy flagships.
Surprisingly, one of the notable leaks highlights its battery. It could offer a silicon-carbon battery, with capacities reportedly ranging between 12,000mAh and 20,000mAh. If accurate, the smartphone could jump from the typical 5,000mAh battery found in the previous generations of Ultra models.
Speaking of the optics, this smartphone is anticipated to receive a big upgrade. The S27 Ultra is expected to feature a 200MP primary sensor using a new ISOCELL HPA sensor. It is expected to be larger, around 1/1.12 inch, and may offer Sony sensors. Another rumoured change involves the telephoto cameras. The S27 Ultra may drop the shorter 3x zoom lens entirely. Instead, Samsung could rely on an improved main sensor and a stronger periscope zoom system.
This smartphone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. Several leaks hint that the device could debut with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0. It is also rumoured to run on One UI 9.5 based on Android 17 out of the box.
Based on the previous Samsung launch cycle, this smartphone is expected to be launched around February or March 2027. Early rumours suggest the smartphone could launch in India at a starting price of around Rs 1,49,999.
