WhatsApp is no doubt one of the most trusted and up-to-date instant messaging applications used by the majority all over the globe for both personal and professional communication. The Meta-owned app also keeps getting new features to enhance privacy and smoothen user experience. In a recent development, it has been revealed that WhatsApp is working on two new features that will be working in the same direction and make the life of users more convenient.
What To Expect
According to a report published by WABetaInfo, the messaging plaform is developing a new feature for WhatsApp Plus users that will let them control when they get notified about specific chat lists. All the Plus users will be able to automatically mute or hide certain chats outside of allowed times. This gives premium subscribers a smarter tool to manage their attention without manually muting or unmuting their conversations every now and then. As per the information available, the feature is as of now in development and is not even available for beta testing.
Another new thing on the cards is that WhatsApp is replacing the advanced chat privacy feature with restricted chats. For your information, Restricted Chats still limit what participants can do with messages in their conversations. Furthermore, WhatsApp is also upgrading the feature by limiting these chats to the primary device only. Currently, the feature is in the roll-out phase for beta versions like Android 2.26.39.11 of the application. It is available for a few beta testers, and it is rolling out to more people over the coming weeks. However, none of the two mentioned features have been confirmed by WhatsApp officially that they will see the light. So, the readers can expect a fair but not hundred percent chance of seeing these features in the stable version of the application.
