Exclusive: Nothing Confirms Plans To Double Its Smartphone Lineup In 2027, More India Stores Coming

dDespite rising component costs and challenging market conditions, London-based Nothing is preparing for an aggressive 2027. In an exclusive conversation with Times Now Tech, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed that the company plans to nearly double its smartphone lineup next year as it looks to expand its business in India and other global markets.
“It’s still too early to discuss individual products, but I can say we’ve launched three smartphones (Nothing Phone 4a, Phone 4a Pro and Phone 4b) this year, and we’re looking to launch twice that number next year. We’ll share more details closer to launch, but the idea is to have a wider range of smartphones,” he said.
If the company sticks to its current plans, Nothing will launch at least six phones in 2027.
India Expansion

Apart from expanding its smartphone portfolio, Nothing is also planning to grow its retail presence in India. Earlier this year, the company opened its first exclusive store in India in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru store received a strong response from customers, with huge crowds on the opening day.
Now, Nothing co-founder and India head also confirmed the company is now planning to open two more exclusive stores in India by the first quarter of 2027. While the locations are yet to be finalised, the company is looking at major Tier 1 cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
He added that the final locations are expected to be decided by the end of September.
Beyond Phones

Akis also shared Nothing’s plans beyond smartphones. He said the company is now focusing on expanding its product portfolio across multiple categories, with audio expected to play a bigger role in its growth strategy.
“Our audio business has been growing very strongly this year,” Akis said, adding that Nothing has created dedicated business units for audio and AI-native products to accelerate development.
Talking about India, Akis said the Nothing is working on local manufacturing before bringing more premium audio products to the country.
“We’re still working on the plans for bringing those products to India. Local manufacturing is an important part of that strategy,” he said.
According to him, Nothing has already started manufacturing products such as the CMF Watch 3 Pro and CMF Headphone Pro locally and hopes to expand local production to more audio products in the medium term.
Akis also hinted that Nothing has more launches planned for this year.
“We still have launches planned for Q3 this year. The launch season isn’t over yet and you’ll see more products coming soon. Some rumours are already circulating, but we’ll reveal more at the appropriate time,” Nothing co-founder added.
CMF Future

The London-based brand launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro in April last year, and many were expecting the CMF Phone 3 Pro to arrive this year. However, the company officially confirmed in June that there will be no new CMF smartphone in 2026 due to rising memory prices.
When asked if consumers can expect a new CMF phone next year, Akis said the company is still keeping a close watch on the market.
“Even this year, we pulled off the plug quite late. We’re looking at different ways on how we could make it happen for next year. But that’s still in consideration. We’re staying close to how the memory price will evolve. But on the Nothing side, the plans are pretty much set in terms of doubling our product portfolio and as part of that, we’re looking to grow our volumes by 50 per cent within next year compared to this year. This is why we’re also scaling our product portfolio,” he explained.
Global Expansion

When asked about Nothing’s global expansion plans beyond India, Akis said company will continue to focus on India while also increasing its presence in the US.
“India is, and will continue to be, one of our most important markets. It is strategically important not only because of its consumer base but also because of manufacturing, R&D and the overall technology ecosystem. The United States is another major priority for us. Competition there is relatively less crowded in certain categories, particularly audio, and we see strong opportunities for growth,” he added.
At last, when asked if Nothing is exploring partnerships like RCB in other markets, Akis said the brand will continue to invest more in marketing globally. He said the RCB partnership has been a huge success in India and Nothing is planning to build similar campaigns for other markets.
“The RCB partnership came in a quite organic way. I’m glad we went for it. It was a big investment, but 100 per cent worth it, especially how things went this year. On a global front, we’ve also signed our first global brand ambassador, Charli XCX. We’ll also announce another global ambassador as we continue to double down on Western markets, while following a more localised strategy in India with RCB. Our marketing investments will increase next year as we look at what more we can do with RCB,” he noted.
