Samsung One UI 9 Update Released: When Will Galaxy S26 Users In India Get It?

Samsung has started the roll out of its One UI 9 update to the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup. This update will be based on Android 17 and currently rolling out in South Korea and a few other markets. The update covers the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26. Earlier, Samsung had rolled out the update for Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 foldable devices in July.
Here is everything you need to know about the update and its expected availability in India.

One UI 9: What’s New?
One of the new additions is My FanCam. It makes recording moving subjects easier. The feature can follow a selected subject and automatically adjust the camera frame while a video is being recorded.
Samsung is also introducing Generative and Editable Cards for Now Brief. These features give users more control over how information is showed and managed through the Now Brief experience. Moreover, the update also puts warranty and device-care information inside the Settings app, making these details easier to find without having to look elsewhere.
One UI 9 also expands Samsung’s Galaxy AI toolkit. The update adds features such as Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder. These tools cover different tasks, including working with documents, creating content, translating conversations and handling voice recordings.
Samsung is also adding new features focused on security and privacy. Security Brief and Privacy Alerts are designed to give users clearer information about the security and privacy of their devices. Scam Detection is another addition that will help you to spot potentially suspicious activity.

When Will One UI 9 Arrive in India?
This update is being released in stages rather than reaching all supported Galaxy devices at the same time. Samsung is expected to expand availability to older flagship smartphones and other eligible models in different regions, including India, over the coming weeks. For users in India, the One UI 9 rollout is expected to continue through late September and October 2026, with the exact timing depending on the device and region.

One UI 9 Eligible Galaxy Phones
The Galaxy S26 series is the first Samsung smartphone lineup to receive the stable One UI 9 update. However, the company has also confirmed a number of other Galaxy devices that are set to get the new software. Additionally, the listed smartphones include the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy S23 FE.
Samsung’s foldable phones on the list include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
