Microsoft Outlook is currently down for many users with people reporting that they are unable to see or access their emails. According to Downdetector, more than 1,500 users reported issues around 5:30 PM on Monday, April 27. Most complaints are coming from users in the US and UK.
According to the outage tracking website, most users are facing login issues, which make up about 68 per cent of the reported problems. Around 18 per cent of users are seeing issues with the app itself, while another 13 per cent say they are not receiving messages properly.
The tech igant shared an update on Twitter (X), saying it is aware of the problem and is investigating it. The company said some users may face sign-in issues, ‘too many requests’ errors,or may get signed out of their accounts without warning.
“We’re investigating an issue where users may be experiencing intermittent issues accessing http://Outlook.com,” the company said on the social media platform X.

“We’ve discovered some users may experience intermittent sign‑in failures, including ‘too many requests’ errors, or unexpected sign‑outs. We’re analyzing service telemetry further to identify any potential next steps and mitigation actions,” it added.
Microsoft added that it is checking system data to understand what is causing the issue and how to fix it.
Frustrated users took to X to share their complaints with many saying they were unable to log in, access their inbox, or receive new emails. Some users also reported repeated errors and unexpected sign-outs.
“@Outlook is Microsoft outlook down? I’m having issues with my phone,” a user posted on X.
‘Is Outlook on iPhone down for anyone else? Tried putting my password in like 10 times,” another user posted on Elon Musk-owned social media platform.
“Thank god I’m not the only one. For 2 hours now outlook has given me trouble and subsequently when one Microsoft service is down – everything else fails. Microsoft sends a text message with a code then says that the code they’ve sent is invalid – then you try all other options which then ends with Microsoft demanding all possible information from you; ultimately failing to work while locking you out of every other service,” an X user posted.
