Anthropic’s Mythos AI has been making headlines since the day it was launched earlier this year. Now the company has released the Claude Mythos 5 for a limited group of organisations, a latest advanced AI tool which is the successor to the original Mythos.
Announced on Tuesday, the launch comes after two months of Anthropic announcing Claude Mythos Preview, which was kept under restrictions due to its ability to find hidden critical software flaws on its own which humans can miss and potentially misused for hacking systems.

As per Anthropic, Mythos 5 is now a lot stronger than the original Mythos Preview in several areas and it can offer enhanced results in software engineering, scientific research, vision-based tasks, long-context reasoning and knowledge work. Moreover, the upgraded AI model can now work on it for longer periods.
A major upgrade is the enhanced cybersecurity capabilities. The Dario Amodei-led firm claims that the new model has the strongest protection features in the world currently. This model can identify software vulnerabilities, assist with security testing and support cyber defenders in protecting critical systems better than before.

The company also notes that the new Mythos 5 can help better with major gains in life sciences. Mythos 5 can work for the drug discovery process by nearly ten times faster. Researchers used this model for protein design, biological analysis and generating scientific hypotheses.

Moreover, the model is claimed to demonstrate better performance in genomics research and molecular biology tasks compared to its previous versions.
Who Can Access Mythos 5?
The company maintains its stance that Mythos-class models have reached a capability level where they may significantly help the hackers to misuse them without safeguards. Hence, the company claims that it is limiting the access to Mythos 5 while allowing its access to a select group of users through the trusted access programme.
Claude Mythos 5 is a major upgrade over Claude Mythos Preview, bringing stronger cybersecurity abilities, better reasoning, enhanced scientific research capabilities and improved autonomous task execution.
