Krafton India has finally announced the launch date of BGMI Air in the country. It is a lighter version of its popular battle royale game (BGMI). It is designed for smartphones with limited storage and entry-level hardware, the upcoming title will make the gaming experience accessible to more users.
The game will support existing BGMI accounts and allow players using both versions to compete against each other. Android users can also pre-register for BGMI Air through the Google Play Store. Here is everything you need to know about the game.
BGMI Air India Launch Date
Krafton has confirmed that BGMI Air will launch in India on December 10, 2026. The announcement was made through the company’s official Instagram account. While the game is yet to arrive, Android users can pre-register through the Google Play Store ahead of its release.
One of the biggest highlights of BGMI Air is its smaller download size. According to Krafton, the game’s initial download will be approximately 1GB on Android devices. The company has also revealed the minimum hardware specifications required to run the game. These include at least 1.5GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU or a better graphics processor.
Krafton has also confirmed that players will not have to download additional game packages before starting their first match. The company describes this as “no forced packages before the first match”.
BGMI Air features
BGMI Air will work with existing BGMI accounts. Players can use their current account details instead of creating a separate account for the lighter version. Another important feature is cross-play support. This will allow BGMI Air users to play matches with people using the regular BGMI game. This means players can choose either version depending on their smartphone’s capabilities and available storage without losing the ability to play with friends.
Krafton has also started accepting applications for BGMI Air’s closed beta testing. Interested players can apply through a form shared on the company’s official Instagram account. The application deadline is November 9, 2026.
Applicants must be Indian residents aged 18 or above, possess a valid government ID and have an active BGMI account. Selected participants will have to travel to Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkata at their own expense for the testing process. Krafton is expected to reveal more information about BGMI Air in the coming weeks, ahead of its December launch.
