Apple Releases iOS 27 Public Beta: Here’s How To Install It On Your iPhone

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has officially released the iOS 27 Public Beta, giving iPhone users an early chance to experience its next major software update before the stable rollout later this year. Alongside iOS 27, the iPhone maker has also opened public beta testing for iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and its other operating systems. The biggest attraction this year is the all-new Siri powered by Apple Intelligence, along with several improvements across Photos, Safari and the overall user interface. Keep on reading to know everything about the iOS 27 Public Beta, including its new features, supported devices and installation process.
Siri AI Headlines The Update Alongside Other New Features
The standout addition in iOS 27 is Apple’s redesigned Siri AI experience. Built on Apple Intelligence, Siri can now understand follow-up questions without requiring users to repeat previous context. It can also search information stored across apps like Mail, Messages, Notes, Calendar and Reminders, while understanding what’s currently displayed on your screen to perform actions inside supported apps.
The Camera app also receives Visual Intelligence capabilities, while Safari gains smarter browsing tools, including automatic tab grouping, improved bookmark organisation and a new Notify Me feature that alerts users when webpages change.
The tech giant has also expanded editing options inside Photos with enhanced Clean Up, Extend and Spatial Reframing tools. Meanwhile, the refreshed Liquid Glass design now offers more customisation through a new Appearance slider that lets users adjust how transparent or tinted the interface looks
The company also says iOS 27 delivers better overall performance, with faster app launches and improvements to AirDrop and Photos.
How To Install iOS 27 Public Beta And Supported iPhones
Installing the beta is pretty simple, though Apple recommends creating a full backup beforehand since beta software may contain bugs or affect battery life and app stability.
To install the update, visit the Apple Beta Software Program website and sign in using the Apple Account linked to your iPhone. Then head to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, select iOS 27 Public Beta, return to the Software Update page and tap Update Now.
The iOS 27 Public Beta supports the iPhone 11 series and newer, including the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 lineups, along with the iPhone SE (2nd generation and newer). However, Apple notes that several Apple Intelligence features, including the advanced Siri experience, will only be available on supported iPhone models with compatible hardware.
