Apple MacBook Pro Gets Touchscreen For The First Time

The biggest feature for me is touchscreen display. Until now, Apple had kept touchscreens limited to devices like the iPhone and iPad. However, with the latest MacBook Pro, users can finally interact with their laptop screen using their fingers.
Like other Apple products, you ca can scroll through websites, zoom in on photos, move files and perform several other tasks directly on the screen without using the trackpad or mouse. Apple says the touchscreen will also help creative professionals who work on photo editing, video editing, designing and other tasks.
The new MacBook Pro also comes with a PROLED XDR display that uses tandem OLED technology. According to the company, the display supports up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. It also supports P3 and Adobe RGB colour spaces, which will be useful for photographers and video editors.
Another major change is the introduction of Dynamic Island on the MacBook Pro. Apple first introduced Dynamic Island on the iPhone, and now the feature has made its way to the Mac. The Dynamic Island on the MacBook Pro can show notifications, Live Activities and other important information. Users can also access Spotlight and Siri AI through it.
Apple MacBook Pro Specifications
Under the hood, the new MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple says these processors are designed to handle demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, software development and AI-related work.
The laptop supports up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage. Apple has also added a Neural Accelerator to each GPU core to improve performance when running AI tasks.
The new MacBook Pro runs on macOS 27 Golden Gate, which brings several Apple Intelligence features and an improved Siri AI assistant. According to Apple, Siri can help users find information from their emails, messages and photos, answer questions and perform tasks across different apps. Some of these AI features may depend on language and regional availability.
Despite getting a touchscreen and several new features, the Cupertino-based tech giany claims that the new MacBook Pro can deliver up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. The laptop also supports fast charging, which can charge the battery up to 50 per cent in around 30 minutes.
Other features include a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI port, an SDXC card slot and MagSafe charging.
