South Korean smartphone brand Samsung quietly showcased new concept robot called ‘Project Luna’ at Milan Design Week as part of its exhibition ‘Design Is an Act of Love’. According to report, Project Luna is not a regular gadget. The robot makes soft beep sounds and small movements like animated characters, so it feels more interactive than regular devices.
It looks like a round screen with a moving head, which makes it look a bit fun and human-like, Fast Company reported. “The idea is to give a vibe, a feeling of the kind of [design] language we want to use,” says Mauro Porcini, Samsung’s chief design officer, was quoted as saying.
In the demo, Samsung placed the concept AI robot next to a Galaxy tri-fold smartphone. Together, they appear to control and connect multiple smart devices around them.
The robot works like a central control hub, handling different products while showing a glowing light on its screen that acts like its ‘face’.

According to Fast Company, the South Korean tech giant believes AI will not stay limited to smartphones. Instead, it will expand across homes, appearing on TVs, refrigerators and other appliances.
As per Porcini, AI will become more ‘shared’ rather than just personal.
Samsung’s chief design officer said the concepts shown at Milan Design Week are not final products but realistic ideas that could become real soon. The goal is to show the direction the company wants to take in terms of design and user experience.
The smartphone brand is also focusing on making AI more human-centric.
“The key message to everybody—to all the brand people, business people, creators, and designers of the world—is we need humanity more than ever to direct AI in the right direction, both creatively and then ethically. This technology will happen no matter what. What we need to talk about is the moral compass,” Porcini told Fast Company.
