Discord Down: How To Fix ‘Awaiting Endpoint’ Issue In Voice Chat Feature?

Discord was down for tens of thousands of users on Wednesday, according to Downdetector, with many taking to social media to report issues. At its peak, more than 17,000 users were affected.
Most complaints were linked to the voice chat feature, with 65 percent of reported issues tied to voice calls. Users attempting to join voice channels encountered the “Awaiting Endpoint” error, preventing them from connecting.
“Our team is actively investigating an issue preventing users from connecting to Discord,” Discord support wrote on X, acknowledging the outage.
“We believe we have identified the issue and are taking action to try and restore voice traffic,’ Discord wrote on its outage status page.
Update:Discord’s Status page reported that the voice and video features have been recovered and are now available to users. “Voice and video should have recovered, and users should be able to connect to voice calls. We are still tracking down issues with our API,” official update read.

How to Fix the ‘Awaiting Endpoint’ Issue?

The “Awaiting Endpoint” error on Discord typically occurs when the app cannot connect to a voice server. This can be caused by network problems, server outages, or configuration glitches.
To resolve the issue, users can check for outages, restart Discord, switch voice regions, or reboot their router.
