ByteDance, the company behind legendary applications like TikTok and Capcut, has halted all its plans related to the global expansion of SeeDance 2.0. This move came after the firm faced legal notices from high-scale Hollywood Studios regarding copyright violations. Citing that, the model is currently only available in China. According to a report published by The Information, ByteDance will not be releasing SeeDance 2.0 on a global scale, as of now. The company initially aimed for a mid-March global rollout.
For those who are unaware, Chinese tech giant ByteDance stunned Hollywood and filmmakers all around the world. The company’s new AI video generation, too, SeeDance 2.0, could replicate and generate scenes that resemble those iconic Hollywood films. And the way things are getting viral, we already knew that the videos made by Seedance 2.0 would explode. In the past, we got to see a video of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise fighting, made with SeeDance 2.0. Apart from that, other viral videos made by SeeDance that are going viral are of Spider-Man, Venom, some anime clips, and more.
What Has Been Happening In The Past?
ByteDance was first accused by Disney of using its content to train the SeeDance 2.0 model. Disney sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance last month. And that’s not it, Hollywood studio Paramount Skydance also accused ByteDance of ‘blatant infringement’ of its intellectual property, specifically naming titles like Star Trek, The Godfather, and South Park.

ByteDance has been establishing the platform as a professional film, e-commerce, content creation, and advertising too. The speculations around the same suggest that ByteDance could sign the death warrant for Hollywood and the film industry.
