To check your Employees’ Provident Fund was considered to be a cumbersome process because of checking the EPFO website time and again. However, EPFO has now introduced a new way on WhatsApp that will help subscribers to get the necessary PF updates directly through the messaging platform.
Importantly, the service allows members to check their available PF balance, access passbook data and go through their last five transactions. Moreover, it will also offer guidance with requirements under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY).
How To Check PF Balance On WhatsApp
You now do not need to go to the EPFO website to check your PF balance. However, it is noteworthy that you must have a WhatsApp account linked to the same mobile number registered with EPFO. Here are the steps to follow:
Open WhatsApp on your mobile.
Click on the search bar and enter +91 8796441800, EPFO’s verified WhatsApp contact.
Open the verified account and send a messaging saying ‘Hi’.
Now, follow the instructions shown on your screen.
Select the service you want to access such as PF balance, passbook details or recent transactions.
Additionally, members can also scan the QR code shared by EPFO through its official X account to open the verified WhatsApp conversion directly.
The government organisation has also warned subscribers against sharing sensitive data through the messaging app. EPFO does not ask for UAN passwords, OTPs, Aadhaar details or bank account credentials. Users must verify the account’s badge before they begin a conversation.
Notably, the verified EPFO WhatsApp account provides access to four important services:
PF balance: Members can check the available balance in their provident fund accounts without logging into the EPFO portal.
EPF passbook: Subscribers can access information about their provident fund contributions and account details.
Last five transactions: Members can view their five latest PF account transactions directly through WhatsApp.
PMVBRY assistance: The service provides personalised guidance to subscribers regarding requirements under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana.
