Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, has shared a message for Meta as the firm is experimenting with creating an AI version of CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He said, ‘People don’t want an artificial intelligence running a company. I think the world wants to know about the person that’s going to be responsible for the decisions of the company, and who they’re going to hold accountable if they make bad ones, and they don’t really want an AI CEO.’ Altman said this on the Invest Like The Best podcast this week, as per a report by Business Insider. His remarks come right after reports suggesting Meta is developing an AI-backed Mark Zuckerberg to assist the employees.
Apart from that, it was recently reported that Meta is working on AI Zuckerberg, as per the Financial Times, and the project is being hailed as the company’s push to integrate AI deeply into its products and operations as well. The same report also suggest that Meta is also working on photorealistic, 3D AI characters that can pull of real time interaction. That’s not it, as Meta has also experimented with celebrity-inspired chatbots and user-generated AI-personas. According to the insiders, the focus has now entirely shifted to creating a Zuckerberg character trained on the CEO’s mannerisms, public statements, and tone. The main focus of the company will be to let the employees feel heavily connected to the founder even in his physical absence.
It has also been revealed that Mark Zuckerberg is personally involved in the training and testing of his AI version. Reports say that he has been spending around five to ten hours a week coding on AI projects and is also attending technical reviews. On all this, Altman said that the world may need a new word to capture the kind of judgement humans excel at that is still something beyond the capabilities of AI models.
